George Longstaff was one of the great tandem builders. This model was made in 1993. We are the fourth owners.

Sizes centres to top of seatposts: captain 65cm; stoker 52cm.  Suitable for a 5'9"-6'5" captain and stoker around 5'2"-5'7".

Wheels: Mavic 700c, 48 spoke, Shimano Deore hubs, new Schwalbe Marathon tyres.  Also a complete spare rear wheel with the hub (drag) brake fitted.

Brakes: Front: V-brake (converted from cantilever); Rear: new Diacomp sidepull rim brake, Shimano cantilever brake and hub (drag) brake.  Hub and sidepull brakes operated by stoker.

I have converted the front stem from quill to A-head and fitted new bars front and rear (not shown in main photo).  If you want to change it back to make it more "original" all parts from when we bought the bike are included in the sale.

Transmission: 3 X 6 speed brand-new set-up with Stronglight triple chainset, new 6-speed rear block, new chain and 2 new bottom brackets. Semi-indexed gear levers on front downtube. (Original Campagnolo drive train available).

Front and rear racks (front rack not in pics).  Includes a car roof rack. Full length mudguards. Cateye computer.

There are some minor scuff marks in a few places but the paintwork is all sound with no exposed metal. Attention to detail is superb as expected on a Longstaff frame with decals and inlays in gold paint which look very smart against the burgundy metallic finish.

Always stored dry in the garage.

The tandem is light and fast to ride with a lovely long-legged feel to it while the marathon frame and Reynolds 531 forks soak up the bumps.

Trials welcome.  Cash on collection please.
