Tyre size

I have a rim size etrto 584 x 35 using a 27.5 x 2.40 Schwalbe Super Moto x. I am looking to reduce the width to perhaps a 27.5 x 2.00 Schwalbe Marathon E Performance or Schwalbe Almotion 27.5 x 2.15.

Has anyone done this change, so far I have heard from various cycle shops and internet sites saying going down to 2.00 is a step too far !!

Schwalbe provide plenty of information on their own site and they recommend a minimum of a 58mm tyre on a 35mm rim.

Neither of your choices would therefore be ideal and the OEM 2.4 Super Moto-X is a very good tyre anyway, certainly we found no disadvantage and plenty of advantages at the recent Easter rally on a variety of surfaces. In fact I think we were the only crew able to ride across the rally field..
